Buffy Rocks
Am totally loving season 7 of Buffy. i would almost recommend watching all previous 6 seasons just to fully appreciate this one- though there are a couple weak episodes in the middle. Still, really impressed with the writing. Not that it’s literary genius or anything- far, far from it. Buffy is alot like Keanu’s acting- accessible in that “i can see what you’re getting at” kind of way. its an good learning tool to help students develop an understanding and appreciation for writing- its like textbook examples of story and character archs, allegory, irony, genre conventions and their subversion…i think this is what you should start students off with in their english classes and then ease them into shakespeare.
or maybe i just like crap?

I’m glad I’m not the only one who loves Buffy.I could only make it to Season 5 though. How many times can she die? It’s just too emotional. But now that your blog put it in mind again, I might have to find out how it all ends up. oh please just put me out of my misery and tell me Mary, I can’t take any more Buffy death! I wonder if Joss Whedon based Buffy on the life of Jesus? (blasphemous!)
LOL! I can lend you season 6 and 7! Season 6 isn’t that great- but it does contain the musical episode! and i love how it ends (last three episodes- “Villians”, “two to go”, and “Grave”). Next time i see you- i’ll drop them off! make kris watch them too. hahaha.
